Little one started standing up this week and we are thrilled...........it might be trite but being a parent is so much fun!!! never knew what I was missing :)

Exercised every day of the week and proud of it.... still a long way off from losing all the baby weight :(

Managed to get a whole night's sleep last night and feel so refreshed, new mums would understand what I am talking about

Tuesday Troubles

Second day of the week today and am not happy!!! a rare occasion I must tell you
why??? cause I have my language exams this week and of course I don't want to study, all I want to do is watch crappy TV, eat junk food and sleep sleep sleep
things I usually don't indulge in too much but exams make me want to do everything except study :)
Will make it a short post as I must tear myself away from all this and that and do the dreaded studying
I might be MIA for the rest of the week or not, lets see

Here I am in happier times as you can judge from the goofy grin on my face
Occasion: retail therapy with best friend

Dress: Promod
Shoes: Banana Republic

Bag: Aldo

Blogger return

Hello All,
How's the weekend going???
Mine is slow and lazy involving tasty food and watching Eclipse on DVD :)
I have been a very irregular blogger and that has been a conscious decision but I still read all the other blogs though I have been a bit slow when it comes to comments sorry for that(sheepish smile)
So what have I been doing?? here's a list:
1. Cooking a lot, trying new dishes and I am thinking of blogging about it also what say you??
I am no gourmet cook but a novice cook cooking by trial and error
2. I am learning a new language Italian yeeeee!!!! and it's so beautiful just hearing the teacher speak is
   bellisimo!!(wonderful)
3. House hunting which unfortunately did not result in anything huh!! damn you mumbai real estate
4. Regular workouts
I also started logging my food daily in http://caloriecount.about.com/ and it's very useful as it tells you the nutrients that are lacking in your diet and also tells you about the foods you need to eat to make up for it, I recommend it to anyone who is trying to eat healthy

I gotta feeling

hello all,
Hope everybody is having a happy week :)
I am finally jet lag free and ready to resume my life as it should be as a human, and not a nocturnal animal
Want to welcome all my new readers to the blog hope you are enjoying it here

The year is almost over and most of it has been spent travelling and there is more travelling on the cards as the great Indian wedding season approaches, so next week there is a big fat punjabi wedding that I have to attend and I am very happy about that, cause:

1. One of our closest friends is getting married and I am very excited about the wedding and the entry of another person in our quite small friend circle(big grin :))

2. I would get a chance to dress up and of course I can go completely overboard with the bling bling(though I most probably won't) as it's a shadi(wedding) and being a married woman that to a newly married woman I am expected to do nothing less

3. I would get to experience true winters and will meet my old friends

So,I think I am completely justified in being excited about it aren't I???

Hopefully I will keep up with my fitness routine like I did on my last holiday
yeah!!! I am also surprised that I managed to exercise even on a holiday but I did not wanted to fall off the band wagon and start all over again
Last year I went completely bonkers during the festival season and ended up gaining a lot of pounds, na na not happening this time so lets pack the yoga pants first

And the OOTD

Wore this to a coffee date with a friend
Top: soap opera Mumbai
Bag: Aldo
Shoes: Banana Republic
Jeans: CK
This is one of my favorite tops because of the color ,the sleeves and the interesting neck line  and the bag is flavor of the week in my closet

Just another not manic monday

Hello all you wonderful people,
A very good morning hope you are having a good good morning I know I am :)
Do I sound disgustingly cheerful on a Monday morning???? that's cause I don't have to go to work and tomorrow I am going for a trip that will involve meeting family, friends and shopping yeeee :)

Now if this isn't reason enough for being happy what is???
To top that weekend was marvelous, husband and I had a fabulous time, we worked out and swam(had to nag him a lot to accompany me for both of these), ate out at new places(which I love doing, I abhor monotony) and watched  movies sitting hand in hand so all in all a perfect weekend
I read a very disturbing news in paper on Saturday which made me very sad and I wrote a post also on that but then decided not to publish it cause why ruin other people's day right!!! maybe some other time

Saw Rahul Mahajan and his wife in the mall completely surrounded by bodyguards, do I hear Rahul who????
for those who know him- why does he need  security, as if he is ever getting mobbed hah !!! ya ya sometimes I am mean(wicked laugh)
Camera still not working so I have posted an old pic

Late night coffee at Taj
Top: Lajpat Nagar Delhi
Watch: Gift from my BFF
Ear rings: Bandra

Seven things you may have always wanted to know

I read this post over at Kiran's blog and the rules for this are you tell 7 things about yourself and then tag others
so here goes,
  1. I love eating maggi noodles and eat it at least once in 15 days
  2. I am a complete chatter box and start talking the moment I get up in the morning
  3. Consider my self to be very empathetic and always try to understand a situation from other person's perspective
  4. Am a total couch potato and watch a lot of tv(no not the saas bahu dramas silly!!! but cool stuff)
  5. I love giving advice but never unsolicited
  6. I still read Enid Blyton stories sometimes and ya I read chick lit also
  7. My fitness role model is Bipasha Basu(an Indian actress) and swimming and belly dancing are my fav. form of exercise
I am not tagging anyone but would really like it, if you would do the tag, you can do it in the comments sections or make a post up to you guys :) looking forward to knowing you better.

Ambitions Vambitions

Sometime back I was having a discussion with someone about my not wanting to work in a corporate job(as I don't like it) and taking time off to figure out what to do with regards to career and in passing he said that "ya it's good cause if women are too ambitious then family gets neglected"  and before anyone gets the wrong idea it was definitely not my husband.

Now there are some things about me that everybody who knows me knows
I am a pakka (strong) feminist, a firm believer in gender equality and I absolutely hate it if if someone tells me that I have to do something cause I am a woman or if anyone tells me I am not ambitious.
Do you have to be a busy executive working a high powered 14 hr job(cribbing about it always) to be ambitious????
I can have an ambition of having a happy healthy life instead of getting into the rat race just to prove something to others.
Secondly my not wanting to work a corporate job has got nothing to do with family being neglected and last but not the least
why do women need to work an easy job for the sake of family??? such a decision should be taken not on the basis of gender but on personal preference and earning capability.

There, I have spoken my mind and feel better already, phew!!

Husband tells me to chill and let people say what they want to say, but sometimes just sometimes these kind of people get on my nerves and I need to vent.

And here is what I wore to the mall, the key word was comfortable

Cropped my face cause was having an extremely bad hair day

Love is in the air

I have decided to be a good wife today and cook dinner for hubby, he totally deserves it too for being a sweetheart these past couple of weeks.

Ours is a love marriage and the courtship period was 8 years, we had been dating since our graduation days.
When we got married I thought that there would be no surprises as we know each other so well but lo and behold,
 I keep on being surprised.

Surprised by the fact that I could love him more than I already did,
surprised that the relationship has become so much better, I didn't think that was possible (sounding really filmy na :))

But I have still some more to say:
He has made me a much nicer person, again I thought I had already reached the pinnacle of my niceness ;)

So, the surprises and the happiness just keeps coming and I can't wait for the rest of my life
