Trends shrends

I don't follow any fashion trends and just wear what I want but I do love this color blocking thing so when it came into vogue a couple of seasons back I was pretty happy.

I think the main reason why everyone starts following a trend is cause that's what's available in the market.
Even if you wanted to wear something else it would be pretty hard to find or you would have to get it made which is not possible for everyone.

Here's something I wore for an early morning movie and there is not a trace of makeup on my face.

I was so sad when they closed down this store :(

Pretty happy to get my weekly treat of ice cream

Feeling green and baby weight

My favorite colors are supposedly all in the red family - orange, oxblood, pink, magenta but when I look at my closet and the older pics the maximum clothes I own are blue or related to blue
How well do I know myself!!!

I wore blue and green in my last 4 posts

On a totally unrelated note I am trying to lose my baby weight(the weight I gained while being pregnant)
Since I can not go all Rocky and exercise like a mad woman as I have a baby to take care of
I am putting more focus on eating healthy

Here's what I have been doing

1. Exercising 6 days a week- something low impact like swimming or brisk walking
2. Walking as much as possible that means walking instead of taking a cab for small distances
3. Joined a walking group
4. No junk food, nothing fried, no sugar
5. No white foods like pasta, white rice
6. No dairy except a small cup of masala tea, no carbs at night and am looking into going gluten free

I have already lost a few kilos and hoping to lose some more in the coming months :)
Before and after pics coming soon

Meanwhile here's an OOTD featuring green color and a few of my favorite people on earth

Any other baby mamas trying to lose weight??

Travel Diaries Thailand and poetry

So here is another travel post with a side of cheesy poetry :)

Sometime back we went to a place called Thailand
It was peaceful, it was pretty, the people there were nice and witty
The food was yummy the weather was sunny, life in Thailand was sweet like honey
The sunsets were like a screensaver and of all this my friend, we are very much in favor.

So the moral of the poem is that we reallyyyyyyyyyyy love the place!!!

On to the pics

What did I say about sunsets!

Accessories do it

Prior to starting blogging I never wore accessories ever!!!!

Now its another story altogether, now I understand how a statement accessory can elevate a simple outfit and make it noteworthy

So I present to you my favorite necklace, its such a statementy piece but surprisingly versatile

I have worn it on numerous occasions and it always gets me compliments, a totally impulse buy from an exhibition

So here it is

Dress: Espirit
Juttis: Street Market
Necklace: Exhibition
Bracelets: Promod

The dress I am wearing is so simple but striking because of the color and it fits well(the most important factor for me) also its perfect for Mumbai weather as its cotton.

I don't like to wear matchy matchy stuff but usually try to keep maximum 3 different colors in a outfit
Please excuse the messy hair the pics were taken on sea face and it was very windy

The week is almost over yay for friday  :)

Maximizing

As you must have guessed by the title we have a maxi dress ootd today.

I love maxi dresses they are sooo comfortable almost like wearing pajamas and don't look sloppy either.
In the extremely hot and humid Singapore I find maxi dresses to be  my choice whenever I have to be outdoors for some time.

So without much ado here it is
There is just one pic cause I was having way too much fun on the trip to get outfit pics clicked.

Maxi Dress: Forever New
Sandals: Zara
Earrings: Very old
Pendant: Ogaan

Snippets from the week gone by

Went for a walking group meet up and loved the experience, planning to continue going

Started watching Orange is the new black and the whole women's prison dynamics is such a novel and interesting concept

Little one started standing up this week and we are thrilled...........it might be trite but being a parent is so much fun!!! never knew what I was missing :)

Exercised every day of the week and proud of it.... still a long way off from losing all the baby weight :(

Managed to get a whole night's sleep last night and feel so refreshed, new mums would understand what I am talking about

How was your week??

Love Shuchita

Orangey Indian

This was clicked on the Mumbai sea face last year. For a Delhi girl shifting to Mumbai was difficult but shifting to a new country is a different ball game altogether.
The initial phase can be quite lonely especially when you are not working, for me it was doubly difficult as I had to forego even the joyful task of discovering the new city/country as I was pregnant and suffering from terrible morning sickness.

Nevertheless things are much better now that I have settled down completely and made some friends.

On to the outfit now

Tunic: Global Desi
Tights: FCUK
Bangle: lifestyle
Sandals: Bandra
Earrings: Gift from MIL

These are some of the faces I miss the most from my Mumbai life

On a totally unrelated note I have decided to make something new every week and this week I made guacamole and burritos at home which everyone loved :)

Being somewhat curvaceous I used to think I can not wear a jumpsuit but clearly I was wrong,
You just gotta find the one for your body type
